Liven up Pre-Searing
There are a lot of players that keep characters in pre-searing for one reason or another, many want to hit 20 in pre for the title associated with it, but to do so requires dying over and over again...
I like the mission books in post searing and think it would be great if there were mission books in pre, that would allow new stories to be told of events that happened in all of the zones available in Pre prior to when you first begin playing your character.
It would also allow for higher level critters to be introduced in these stories, so that players can gain exp off of them and possibly hit 20 without dying, and therefore making it possible to get both the legendary defender of Ascalon title and the survivor title on the same character.

Yeah pre is far too small to have a book. I mean come'on anyone could repeat a book over n over and hit LDoA in a day or two of grinding, taking away the awesomness related to the title.

I don't think a book is the right answer... But i would like to see something to assist those who are trying to level up, if only slightly. Maybe some form of rare dropped scroll that would level up your apponents for the length of the the scroll timer. Make it very rare, maybe even more so than the charr salvage kit. (Well, maybe not...lol) This would also be a highly marketable commodity. Just a thought.

Post Searing is the best way to spice it up.

I'm actually surprised Anet gave all presearing has now already. They are very kind to it even though it is supposed to be a tutorial of the game.
Granted the presearing community is fun and tis a nice relaxing setting, but I think they have enough now.

Joining the Academy and going Post-Searing is the best way to add more things for you to do. The best part about doing that is you get to fill up the books you like in Prophecies. I would prefer that content updates focus on areas of the game that you can return to. I have a Fire Imp I'll never see, and there's this Nicholas Sanford guy, Charr Bags and Salvge Kits, LDoA was added - how much more exclusive content does Pre-Sear need?

Now that the eternal collector was added, these are few things left to add there:
- Level 2.5 (27AR for W, 12 for R and 7 for casters) headgear collector. The same armor as the other pieces that already exist in other collectors. There is no need to add another NPC, just add the headgear to the list of the most hidden and faraway collector from Ascalon City. Mindle or Rowan would be good choices.
- Quests for Earth, Water and other skills so all professions get the same number of skills there (8) (or added them as rewards to already existing quests), and at least one skill per attribute that has core skills.
- A group of level 10 vanguard soldiers in Piken square, guarding some supplies. A group of 8 level 5 charr spawns there and attacks them anytime you approach the place. If you beat the charr without any of the soldiers dying, the group of charr will no longer appear and they will offer you a deal.
Their names could be names of soldiers later seen in the North to connect more both plots.
The deal would be about armor. One of them will be a supplier for the plot, but a collector of higher level armor for you. He will exchange charr trophies for the 'last model of armor' that crafters created for the vanguard.
First you give them 250 Charr carvings to prove you can kill lots of charr, and then you can give 50 Charr hides for each piece of armor.
They would be level 10 armor pieces (50AL for W, 40 for R, 30 for casters), that's the higher rating you can get in Ascalon City(post-Searing Town), and it would be actually more expensive than getting it there, so there won't be an advantage you can have for staying in pre.
The skins would also be the new one available in pre-Searing:
> Charr Hide, Fur-Lined, Woven, Cabal, Rogue and Flameforged.
They make sense if the trophy is Charr Hides, and would be different to the other two skins available there, so they would have some prestige without being prestige sets.
- A real tutorial. Replace the PvP arena with real visit to the Academy like the Tutorials seen in Factions and Nightfall. You'll get to level 2 if you are under that level, the resurrection signet if you don't have it and can skip it and get those anyways. After the brief tutorial, the 'first mission' starts.
- Separate the arena from the main plot, and let anyone enter the Arena anytime. No points nor rewards are given at all there, and it's just for fun.
- Give some skills to the Skullreaver boss in the Catacombs (one of them Skull Crack to go with the name), increase its level to 10. Also increase the levels of the 4 skeletons nearby form 1 and 3 to 4 and 7, and make them a group so if you attack one of them all of them go get you.
Make a cheap chest (with the appearance of a HM Locked chest) appear when the boss is killed to fake a Dungeon Chest. The chest will spawn a drop for each party member. Among the normal useless drops of monsters of that area may drop, the chest may also drop 'toy' greens with req 4 and have a slight chance of dropping blue experience scrolls.
There would be one toy green for each profession: A sword, a short bow and 4 staves linked to the primary attribute. All with the 'Ascalon' skins: Rinblade, Ascalon bow, etc...
That's all that I see that can be added or changed to 'complete' pre-Searing.
Ah.. a man can dream...

I dont understand why everyone thinks going afk for 10hours at a time while repeatedly letting a bunch of monsters kill you, and then coming back, killing them and getting a title is so special.
As for hte orginal idea, No. Don't like pre? leave.

There's only one thing they need to do for Pre.
Add one. Single. Level 14 boss.

I just joined this website today, and man, do I feel sorry that I did.
I find it funny how volatile people can get over an idea that they don't care for.. Particularly those that don't understand why people stay in pre, and probably don't have characters in pre, yet they feel like they have to post negatively toward an idea that won't pertain to them....
My idea wasn't just about the titles and wasn't about grind the mission books for exp, it was also about adding more story and background to the game...
Geeze with all the negative response, I'd say this joining this particular 'community' is a mistake and maybe I should move on to a different one that isn't marked as 'Elite' on the guildwars main site.

It's not that it's an idea people don't care for. It's an idea that's been suggested before and that goes against one of the basic precepts of this game. Presearing is a beginning stage that isn't meant to be permanently occupied. All the things they've done for perma-pre players doesn't change the fact that it's a beginning area.
This is the most negative part of the forum because people have grown tired of all the bad suggestions, complaints, and moaning from certain users about certain things. These responses are actually pretty tame compared to most of them we usually get too.
This thread is very likely to go nowhere else. So I'll just go ahead and close it.
